About this deal

Haf’s love of Paddington Bear is brilliant and her watching the film with Christopher is a nice touch. After a year from hell, Haf is ready to blow off steam at a Christmas party: a kind stranger, a few too many drinks and suddenly she's kissing Christopher under the mistletoe, in front of his ex-girlfriend. It serves up that cozy and wholesome romantic feeling, that makes you want to download tinder again and pretend like it’s a ‘good idea’. in a refreshing change, each character has their own identity beyond this but the importance of the range of inclusivity is never lessened.

They are also the author of the children's biography Sir David Attenborough: A Life Story (2020) and a contributor to the anthology Allies: Real Talk About Showing Up, Screwing Up, And Trying Again (2021). The long-awaited second instalment in Samantha Shannon's Sunday Times and New York Times-bestselling series Tunuva Melim is a sister of the Priory. MAKE YOU MINE THIS CHRISTMAS is the queer Christmas rom-com I was waiting for and I desperately need this to be a film. There's a lot of comedy here that could come off as cringe, but because all of the leads are so genuinely nice and earnest, actually just comes off as charming and quirky. Ich mochte nicht nur die romantische Anziehung zwischen Haf und Kit, sondern auch, wie viel Platz andere Freundschaften eingenommen haben. We only see the characters from the back, yet to the reader, it’s very obvious who each of them is supposed to be. The dialogue in this book made me want to pack up my life and fly to England to find the author and befriend them. From lack of coordination to failed gingerbread house making to lack of attention to detail when she dons her roommate's Christmas gift for her, Haf stumbles her way through a deception she regrets heartily thanks to fake boyfriend Christopher's intriguingly attractive older sister Kit.

Together, they head into the holidays with secrets, insecurities, and a fake dating plan that is bound to go badly. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. It's a kind of instinctual primal reaction that she wants to kick him in the back of the knees and run away. I love the relationships that develop between Haf, Christopher, and Kit, they’re really so sweet (and props to Jones for at least acknowledging the ridiculously fast-paced relationship with a self-deprecating U-Haul joke – that’s really all I need to get over the un-believability of it!

My favourite part is that Haf's relationship with Christopher, a platonic-love-at-first-sight-friendship has the same emotional weight as her relationship with Kit. Perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan, Laura Kay and Carol - this is sheer festive joy as you've always wanted to see it. Kit has hypermobile Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome like me because I wanted the object of affection to be disabled, to point out how many of us have relationships and sex and are desired – trite to say, but I really did see her weaving her way with her walking stick as one of the first moments in this book. Aber die Charaktere waren total einnehmend und ja, es hatte natürlich auch wirklich lustige und romantische Szenen, die ich mochte.Just like with most holiday movies and stories you have to roll with it because relationships develop very quickly and there are convenient misunderstandings that help set up the story. Because fake relationships have to start somewhere, they are seen kissing by Christopher’s ex-girlfriend Laurel, who is there with her boorish new boyfriend Mark, and Laurel just assumes that Haf is Christopher’s new girlfriend. I need you to know before I begin this review that two of my four favourite films on my Letterboxd profile are Carol and Paddington 2, that both my sister and I are plus size queer people who are So Very Online, and that I sent her a ten minute voice note when I was barely a third of the way into this to yell about how she needs to read it immediately. overall, this is a delightful read and one i cannot recommend enough if you can stomach the cheesiness and romance of hallmark.

Also the fake dating in this story is absolutely *chef’s kiss* and is quickly becoming one of my favorite tropes! Ambrose says that Haf’s taste in men can be summarised as guys who might live like raccoons and are a bit grubby-hot, like Robert Pattinson now, or anyone from the Italian band that won Eurovision a few years ago. I have not reviewed a book before but felt the need after listening to a book that is absolute perfection.

The million copy bestseller, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, is an immensely powerful and heartbreaking novel of brotherly love and.
