About this deal

You can feel it in your lizard brain, a primitive, inner, warning trill that you cannot quite explain. It has been five years since Live Wire, and now he is back with two boys which vanished some ten years ago. While I adore Myron, I will admit that Win is my absolute favorite character, simply because he loves Myron unconditionally. His essays and columns have appeared in many top publications including the New York Times, Parade Magazine and Bloomberg Views.

As I comment in a number of my reviews, it seems that a lot of the current mysteries are so predictable. I bought this long-awaited new novel knowing that I would not have to worry about the story, the characters, the length, the pace or the style. When the mystery of what happened that fateful day ten years ago is finally revealed, Myron must race the clock to keep another tragedy from occurring. Years ago, the two boys have left years ago in the care of Vada Linna, an eighteen year old au pair from Finland. They had been through God knows what, and while I didn’t relish the idea of allowing either to suffer through even one more abuse, I had already added up the pros and cons and made my decision. Ten years ago, Rhys Baldwin, who is Win's nephew, and his best friend, Patrick Moore, were abducted from the Baldwin home. Sure enough, a teenage boy who bears a striking resemblance to Patrick appears to be a street hustler. I was also pleased to see the whole gang was back, including Esperanza and Big Cindi, as well as Myron’s parents and the gang from the Mickey Bolitar series, which is pretty cool, and has me thinking about giving that series a try someday, although I’m not usually one for YA novels. Coupled with this unique style, he manages to weave fascinating plots and proper endings (another thing that you are relieved to be able to rely on).

I have been waiting for this book forever and was so shocked to see that another book in this series came out.He would now be, if this is indeed Patrick and not a look-alike or mistake on my part, sixteen years old. We begin in London with some BIG bad-ass henchmen and are soon reminded that the filthy rich Windsor Horne Lockwood III can be one wicked and lethal dude despite his aristocratic and effete appearance. Home by Harlan Coben is another gripping thriller with a relentless pace that kept me enthralled until the last page. Many thanks and can’t wait to see the overwhelming success that the Myron/Win dream team are sure to bring! I may strike quickly and violently, but I do nothing without a certain level of deliberation and purpose.
