About this deal

Jason also appeared with Barker in various disguises in The Two Ronnies, including providing the "raspberry" sound effect for The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town. Through a natural talent for making people laugh, found himself working with the leading lights of British comedy in the 1960s and ’70s: Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Bob Monkhouse and Ronnie Barker.

Usually, at the end of a biography I like to feel like I could invite the celeb in question round for a brew as they've become a friend or confidant. TV documentary maker Simon Reeve has dodged bullets on frontlines, hunted with the Bushmen of the Kalahari, dived with manta rays, seals and sharks, survived malaria, walked through minefields, tracked lions on foot, been taught to fish by the President of Moldova, and detained for spying by the KGB. Many people think they know David from the countless books that have been written on him but I have been waiting for this book for a very long time.Autobiographies can have a tendency to become warts and all tell all slaggng off off other actors so it's nice to read many nice things said about Jason's fellow professionals. His acting career has been long and varied: from his theatre work in the West End to providing voices for Mr Toad from The Wind in the Willows, Danger Mouse and The BFG; and from Open All Hours and The Darling Buds of May to his starring roles as Detective Inspector Frost in A Touch of Frost and, of course, Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter in Only Fools and Horses. This book really details David Jason's career form the rely days right up until his acting in the BBC drama series, Frost. I can't vouch how common is such course of development with actors in general, maybe it is, but I find this trope of almost unlikely hero (electrician, in this case) turning into star actor just through sheer will, talent and, perhaps, a little serendipity here and there, fascinating no matter how many times it repeats itself. She gave birth to twin boys at North Middlesex Hospital in Edmonton, London, in February 1940, but Jason's twin brother died during childbirth, making him a twinless twin.

About two brothers in south-east London, the series was in many ways a forerunner to Only Fools And Horses. I did feel as though this section could have been a lot longer – after all, it was one of Sir David’s longest jobs! Croft had been very impressed with Jason and believed that he had the talent to play a man much older than his real age.In 1999, Jason starred as Captain Frank Beck in BBC's feature-length drama All the King's Men about the Sandringham regiment lost in World War I. A well-written, witty, and touching memoir, "My Life" - the title's blandness notwithstanding - enjoyably captures the small and big moments that made one of my favorite actors. Conversely, I did find the first two to five hours a little bit boring as a lot of detail was put into explaining his early days on stage.

His stories before he decided to become an actor, learning various trades, resulted in some great stories. He did train as an electrician, but rarely seemed to be out of work as an actor to have to fall back on this alternative career. The story of the phenomenon that is Kraftwerk, and how they revolutionised our cultural landscape 'We are not artists nor musicians. On 16 September 2008, Jason announced that he would step down from his role as Jack Frost after 16 years. Seldom have I had the good fortune to read (listen) to such an entertaining, amusing and well written autobiography. In the 1980s, Jason developed a working partnership with Cosgrove Hall, and was a voice-over artist for a number of children's television productions.
