About this deal

They retrace him to his hometown where they discover he grew up before leaving for an Ivy League school and bigger and better things. Overall, it’s a very enjoyable journey for the reader to follow their journey and try to solve the mystery before they do. I plan to go back and read the third and fourth books in the series, The Target and The Guilty but am not necessarily in a hurry. And just as unputdownable from the very first page to the very last like all the other of this brilliant series.

But still a solid mystery action thriller by the always dependable David Baldacci from his incomparable Will Robie series. I mentioned in my review of David Baldacci’s previous Will Robie book, The Guilty(published in 2015), that it wasn’t a series I knew well. There is an uncertainty to continue in series and books in this genre, and perhaps the books title lives up to its definition, as I finished this book wanting something different.I’m combining the two sections that are usually separate in my blog posts because there were a lot of things I liked, but that at the same time could be considered out of character and strange for a David Baldacci book. At the time I appreciated the deviation because I was worried having not read previous books in the series may have been a disadvantage. Blue Man, their handler, superior, and friend, has gone missing when he had taken a rare fishing vacation to his hometown of Grand. Even as a longtime Baldacci fan and as an initial fan of this particular series, I can’t find anything good to say about End Game. For this novel, there is decent character development in the two protagonists, though their progression differs greatly.

A well-crafted tale that brings together mystery, suspense, and the results of social, political, and systemic issues. The Agency Director sends Will and Jessica to investigate and find their handler before any state secrets are lost, but Grand is not just any other small town. At the end of the previous book, Will and Jessica grew closer in their developing personal relationship outside of work. Our heroes have several clashes with the Neo-Nazi's, always showing their superior skill and intelligence. With little time to ponder what the future holds, Robie and Reel must act now and sort out their past connection later.David is also the co-founder, along with his wife, of the Wish You Well Foundation (R), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting literacy efforts across the US.
